We had a great time making this fellow. It started off as an island then turned it into a Sand Monster.

If you look closely on the surface of this wooden post, you’ll see wonderful patterns scared into the surface. I assume it is from some kind of fungus that had been growing underneath the bark and now the bark has fallen away these wonderful patterns has been revealed. A great simple find for a photographer

When me and my son had finished our Grumpy Sand Monster and was on our way home, we happened to look back to see a seagull walking towards our sand monster, it walked around it a couple of times then two other gulls came and did the same. The amusing thing is they had a look one at a time, so when one decided it was’nt that interesting and waddled off, another would take a look-it was very funny. (The nosey so and so’s-reminds me of the neighbours
).
