I have to say taking photographs makes you a lot more observant of whats around you, I would have missed this single red flower in a huge flower bed of yellow and white flowers had i have not been paying attention. A brilliant find on a lovely spring day.

Our youngest son Caleb took this interesting photograph. I love how well you can see the pollen buds in the center of the flower and if you look at the petals you can see pollen smeared on the leaves presumably by bees and insects.

Took this picture of a Red Water Lilly in Skegness.
There are two small ponds in the Rose Gardens just outside of Natureland Seal Sanctuary, that’s covered in Red and Pink Water Lilies.

It isn’t so much the Painted Lady Butterfly that I found interesting in this photograph, but the reflection on my husbands blue van. A rough butterfly bush had grown up under my hubby’s old van. when I took the photo I was concentrating on the painted lady, so missed the real interest in the image until I uploaded it.

It’s a bit weird that this is one of the top traffic pictures on the Photographic Picture Blog site, looks like people are searching for adult mature pictures and finding our picture of mature wheat heads in August, maybe they think August is a mature woman’s name and wheat heads is a euphemism for something else!
There are no mature adult pictures on this website, everything is child and work safe I’m happy to say.

Photograph of Snail Shell in Sand.
I really like these little stripy snail shell and I love to spot them when I’m out. Both of these snails pictures was taken in different locations one on Skegness Beach the other beside a road in a grass verge.
When I was a child I took some of these beautiful snail shells home (I thought they where empty) and left them on my Grandad’s window Sill, when I went to collect them the next day there where little silvery slim trails all down my Grandad’s wall – OOPS
