These two seagulls look like there a couple of old friends out for a walk together, but if you look closer you’ll see the small gulls head is a little out of focus because it was rushing to get past the big gull and be the first to the food.

My hubby thinks this mallard looks really scruffy, but I like it you can see it’s colourful wings. The photo also has an interesting background which is always a bonus.

Brilliant action photograph. I was so lucky to capture this picture,I love the way in which the mallard is stood up in the water. The shot was taken just before the wings where pulled back which means I’ve captured the blur of the wings moving but not so fast you can’t see them. I’ M SO PROUD
. My first action shot.

Picture of Dunnock (Hedge Sparrow).
The Dunnock, Prunella modularis, is a small passerine bird found throughout temperate Europe and into Asia. It is by far the most widespread member of the accentor family, which otherwise consists of mountain species. It is sometimes called the Hedge Accentor, Hedge Sparrow or Hedge Warbler.

I’ve put up this picture just because it was the 1st baby black bird we saw this year (2009).

This photo makes me laugh. It was spring when I took this picture, so all waterfowl are looking sexy trying to attract a female. Every time I see this photo the song “The Boys Are Back In Town” springs to mind

Song thrushes are very shy birds, as soon as you raise your camera to take a picture their gone. except this song thrush at our local park, it will come right up to you. I don’t know if it’s the time of year but it doesn’t mind having it’s photo taken. It’s partner on the other hand is as shy as all other song thrushes.

I think this is a grey wagtail, apparent new comer to Skegness. I took this great photo in Tower Gardens in September/October 2008, but I’ve also seen it behind the beach in the boat canal when it was drained, feeding on insects.
If anyone knows for sure what bird this is please post a comment.

Great photograph. I won our families photographer of the week with this picture. I didn’t have much hope of getting a great shot because I was so far away, but I kept shooting anyway. When I got home and cropped the photo down, I got this beauty.
I love my 18x zoom digital camera
