I spotted this pink flowering bush at Gibraltar Point in Skegness. I’ve seen these pink flowers many times in the wild, but this is the first time I’ve seen one with a bulbous center

Do you happen to know the name of this pink flowering bush? I have searched everywhere to find it’s name. Hopefully you can help me.
Regards
Maureen
Hi Maureen,
No I have no idea, I’ve had a look online but could find nothing :-(
What I can tell you is that I’ve seen it in the wild a few times and like I mentioned in the article this one was a Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve.
The flower bloomed in June-August time and the flower was on a bush that was a least 8′ tall
Sorry couldn’t help you more.
Marie
It’s a Mallow – Hibiscus
It might be Rose of Sharon. Hard to tell — but the flower and leaves do look like it. Hope it helps!

It’s a Lavatera, also known as Tree Mallow. They’re a traditional ‘cottage garden’ shrub, although less popular now than they used to be.
Matt, I think you are correct as I have one of these shrubs in a new garden bed. It has bloomed all summer & the bees love it! No pests or diseases so far. Just a very nice shrub. I had forgotten its Latin name until you mentioned it. G (in Vancouver, BC)
It is definitely a Tree Peony. I have one in my yard
This is definitely a Lavatera..i have 1 in my garden x
