I took lots of pictures that day of this moorhen and it’s partner, picking up leaves and debris, but this pictures was the best on the day. It was very late in the season when the moorhen’s made their nest late September and unfortunately all though they had one chick it didn’t survive the winter :-( The quality of the picture isn’t great, I took the picture late afternoon, camera was on auto and cropping the picture has made it grainy. But if you ask me makes it look quaint.
