Seagull at Skegness boating lake. The seagull had just finished dowsing it’s self and I managed to capture a few air born water droplets and the seagull looking cute and puffed up.

This scary looking mini beast is a vapourer moth caterpillar. We found it on our butterfly bush and took a few pictures. The male moth of these caterpillars actually comes out during the day to feed, the females are flightless and look like hairy woodlice.

The vapourer caterpillar can be found on most trees and bushes and when very small can spin silk that is picked up by wind currents to transport them to other plant life, just like spiders.

I made a mistake with this photo. Photography one o one check for details before taking the shot, the picture looks ok until you notice that there are several dead berries on the holly.

Just at the back of the beach opposite the South Parade car park in Skegness there is a bit of waste land. A couple of years ago a pond developed and in the center an island of grass grew, a family of ducks claimed it, but it’s since dried up. Believe it or not summers in Skegness haven’t been as wet as usual.

Our youngest took this picture, and won photographer of the week for this imaginative shot. The tree is actually on the flat, but he made it look like it’s on a steep incline.

I captured this Moorhen picture in the late evening in Tower Gardens. I thought it looked interesting stood on the top of the water fall silhouetted against the back drop.
